Corporal punishment in child's upbringing

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of physical punishment in the education of children. The aim of the work is to map the experiences and opinions of parents on the use of corporal punishment in the upbringing of children b. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part of the work is focused on the theoretical basis of education, its styles, educational resources and physical punishment with a discussion of their use. The last part of the theoretical work mentions the rights of children. The practical part is realized in the form of a questionnaire survey, the main goal of which was to find out the opinions of parents of preschool children on the use of corporal punishment in the family, their childhood experiences from the original family and whether parents are for the approval of a law banning the use of corporal punishment. It turned out that compared to their childhood experiences, 15.7 % of respondents abandoned this educational tool. Parents are more inclined to democratic upbringing, where there is a balanced combination of liberal and autocratic upbringing. Only those who no longer physically punish their child agree with a possible ban on the use of corporal punishment.

Literacy of parents of preschool children in injury prevention and parental attitude towards minor corporal punishments

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of literacy of parents of the preschool children in the prevention of injuries, the type of injuries and the most common place of injuries of the preschool children both at home by leisure activities and in nursery schools. It also deals with the attitude of parents to minor corporeal punishments and to what they actually consider to be a corporeal punishment. The theoretical part is devoted to the explanation of basic concepts in the field of children´s injuries, to defining the basic conditions for creating a safe home for children and it also includes the solution to the issue of corporal punishment. The practical part contains an evaluation of the results gained by means of anonymous questionnaires from in total six nursery schools. All data were statistically evaluated.

The aim of this thesis is to form a comprehensive view on the discussed issue, explaining the suitability or unsuitability of corporal punishment in a given situation. Describe the role of the family in the upbringing of children, the effects of corporal punishment on children, corporal punishment in connection with CAN syndrome and corporal punishment from the perspective of children. The thesis will include a practical component. It is written in a more critical reflection on the topic. The thesis will compare corporal punishment as a form of an education and its opposite - a liberal education.The conclusion will include case studies. Two case studies deal with uthoritarian upbringing while the third case study deals with liberal education. Protection of personality of the child focused on protection of physical integrity of the child This thesis deals with protection of personality of the child. It is not possible to cover the whole area of the protection of personality of the child, therefore, this diploma thesis focuses on the problems of the protection of physical integrity of the child, compulsory vaccination and corporal punishments. Using the descriptive and analytical method, comparative method and historical method, the aim of this thesis is to analyse and to evaluate the Czech law of protection of personality of the child, especially the protection of physical integrity of the child, to analyse the selected issues of the physical integrity of the child and to predict the further development in this area.
